Queue

What

A queue is a secondary form of navigation with a clickable list of items, often with filters, sorting and search options.

Why

To provide an easy way to select the entity for the main content section

Where

Left hand side of the screen in between the navbar and main content section

Best Practices

  • Not shown at same time as a grid/table that has the same items
  • Mobile: May temporarily take up entire screen
  • Variations: Can sometimes be switched to a grid/table view for large, sortable lists with lots of details
  • Variations: Pinnable slide out drawer or fixed
